Octomore 17.1 opens the Seventeen Series with an expressive blend of smoky and toasty aromas. Matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks, it brings together notes of vanilla milkshake, Scottish sweets and warm vanilla custard, alongside pear sweets and malt syrup. Dry, earthy smoke, smouldering oak and ash build up in waves. A salty note cuts through the sweetness and provides clarity.
This single malt Scotch whisky showcases Octomore’s characteristic interplay of intensity and finesse: powerful, precise and
balanced.

The distillery was founded in 1816 by George Montgomery. It is located on the island Islay in Port Charlotte. 1852 the distillery was taken over by Thomas Pattinson and got shut down in the same year. Although there were plans in 2008 to reopen the distillery by Bruichladdich, they were not realised. But since the same year Bruichladdich is bottling a heavy peated Single Malt called Octomore.
