“We discovered that the origins of the Mauxion family date back to 1575, when Pierre Mauxion was born in a village called “Houlette”, where the family still lives today. This corresponds to 13 generations of Mauxion.
In 1743, Antoine MAUXION was the first of the family to produce a brandy from the Cognac region on his own vineyard. At that time, as a wine distiller, he had to pay a tax of “75 livres”.
Over 10 generations, we have maintained the same tradition of vine cultivation (respecting the seasons from pruning to harvest), vinification and distillation in copper stills. All these steps create a nectar “EAUX de VIE” which, after a slow maturation over many years in French oak barrels, will give birth to Cognac.”
