Loch Lomond “The Open” Chianti Finish – 46%

The Open Championship – also known as the British Open outside of Great Britain – is the oldest golf tournament in the world still being played. As a long-standing partner of this event, Loch Lomond creates a limited edition of “The Open” every year, with a special cask finish. This year, “The Open” is taking place for the second time in Royal Portrush on the coast of Northern Ireland, and the colour scheme of the limited edition also celebrates Northern Ireland’s iconic golf club. This year’s creation: a single malt whisky with a Chianti wine cask finish, distilled in straight neck pot stills.

TASTING NOTES
Nose: Redcurrant, raspberry, apple, vanilla.
Palate: Honey, peach, pear, red berries.
Finish: Medium length with drying oak tannin and soft smoke.
