After the Loch Lomond Distillery was once again recognized as the fastest-growing distillery this year, we are delighted to present the innovative distillery’s exclusively selected Remarkable Society Edition: Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Moscatel Finish. Awaiting you is a 12-year-old single malt, distilled in the unique straight neck stills (the only ones in Scotland) and the more traditional swan neck stills, with an intensely sweet finishing in Moscatel casks.

The truly sweet side of sherry is showcased by the extremely rare grape varieties Pedro Ximénez (about 3% of the vineyard area) and Moscatel (about 2% of the vineyard area). The grapes from these varieties are sun-dried outdoors after harvest until they have shriveled into almost deep, dark raisins. However, after this intense sunbathing, their sugar content is extremely high, as is the intensity of labor and craftsmanship required to make Sherry Moscatel.
Moscatel is one of the Sherry grapes with particularly fruity notes. These are typical of the Muscat grape and give it a very special aroma. The Moscatel finish forms a unique composition with the exceptionally fruity signature style of the “Most Awarded Distillery” Loch Lomond. Another unique selling point is the rarity of the Moscatel casks, which lends the fruity style of Loch Lomond whisky an additional intense sweetness.
