The Laizhou Distillery brings a breath of fresh air to our whisky market: Here, a modern, large-scale project (completion in 2021, annual capacity 4.8 million liters) meets Qionglai, China’s most traditional distilling region – including the perfect microclimate for intensive cask maturation. Flexible distillation technology with 15 pot and column stills and its own cooperage allow Laizhou to precisely control aromas and employ innovative methods. The foundation for this: international raw materials such as Scottish malted barley or grain from Sichuan, as well as a broad cask portfolio. This includes STR and sherry casks, as well as rice wine casks and those made of Mongolian oak.
