Kilchoman presents an exceptional and particularly rare full cask maturation: Kilchoman Sauternes Cask Matured. The Islay single malt matured for at least 5 years in Sauternes casks, which were personally selected by Kilchoman founder Anthony Wills. A combination of first-fill and re-fill Sauternes casks was selected for this Islay single malt to create the perfect balance of buttery sweetness, BBQ pineapple, candied ginger and floral peat smoke.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
