Isle of Jura 2009 Whisky Agency & Sansibar – 51,8%

The darkest in the range – and you can tell straight away. 17 years old, matured in Tawny Port barriques, 51.8% ABV. On the palate: berry fruit, but not cloyingly sweet; rather, crisp and fresh, with herbal notes up front and wine gums in the middle. The finish is dry and long, with a blend of port notes and Jura spirit that’s a real treat. A modern island whisky with character – and a cask you don’t come across every day.
