Hearach 2018 Bourbon #1932 Peated – 58,9%

The choice for the first single cask for Germany fell on the ex-bourbon barrel #1932 from 2018, which was originally filled with heavily peated distillate. Instead of the usual malt specification (12–16 ppm), malt was used that was peated with genuine Harris Peat to 40–44 ppm!

Tasting Notes:
Aromatic: Very fruity pear, flambéed banana, and baked apple with a hint of peat in the background.

Taste: Smoke and peat are immediately present, followed by fruit: pear, gooseberry, and white grapes. Maritime, salty notes round out the flavor.

Finish: Long with plenty of vanilla and warm smoke.
