The Hampden HLCF 2023/2025 was selected for the German market. Distilled in the distillery’s pot stills from molasses, sugarcane juice, dunder, and muck, this pure single rum matured in a Bodegas Fundador sherry cask. Hampden Estate has been experimenting with these Andalusian casks since 2018, using them to mature various marques and vintages.

For example: Hampden Light Continental Flavoured, or HLCF for short. Perhaps the distillery’s most popular marque, it stands for balanced rum with a high ester content of between 400 and 600 grams per hectoliter of pure alcohol. After two years in the tropical climate of Trelawny, this single cask expression brings out the HLCF intensity in a full-bodied and vibrant way – complemented by festive notes of preserved cherries, cocoa, and roasted walnuts from the sherry cask.

The 2025 Distillery Edition expresses the unmistakable style of this iconic Jamaican rum through the combination of several marques from different vintages: Fermented pineapple and a hint of varnish meet ripe banana, delicate smoke, and licorice, before gentle spices and herbaceous freshness linger long on the finish.

Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling in the Trelawny region, the “Grand Cru” of Jamaican rum, for almost three centuries. The distillery’s heavy, unadulterated pure single pot still rums are known around the globe. Their full-bodied taste with highly aromatic ester notes is guaranteed by five strictly defined production methods – including fermentation with wild yeasts and maturation for at least eight years in Jamaica’s tropical climate.
