Glenmorangie started producing in 1843 in an reconstructed brewery. In 1887 the distillery was completely new constructed. It is located in the northern Highlands in Tain. Stories tell that its whisky has never been sold for making blends. There used to be an old rule that claimed that there should always be sixteen men in the distillery making the whisky. This is why the distillery is also known under the name ‘ The sixteen men of Tain’. Glenmorangie even has own forests where it gets its wood for the casks from. Therefore it has a big impact on the development of using different wood and cask types during making whisky. Today the distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy.

A Tale of Ice Cream promises the same effect on whisky lovers that ice cream has on Dr Bill Lumsden: It makes you melt. The delights of his favourite ice cream parlour are the only thing the whisky maker can’t resist. Inspired by them, he created Glenmorangie’s first single malt from casks with a high proportion of vanillin in the wood and from bourbon casks.
The result encapsulates Glenmorangie’s sweetest and creamiest flavours: soft notes of peach melba, lemon sorbet and vanilla meld with honeycomb and brioche. Coconut flakes and candied apples form the garnish.
