This 22-year-old Bowmore was bottled by Murray McDavid for the Awakening series on the occasion of the first Whisky Live Germany 2025. The whisky matured from 2003 to 2025 and was bottled from the Callejo Wine Cask No. 2. A total of 302 bottles are available at 54.9% ABV.

Nose: Smoked peach, blossom, dried apricot.
Palate: Floral smoke, raspberry, baking spices.
Finish: Smoked butter, nectarine, sweet pear.

The distillery whose name means as much as ‘great barrier’ is located next to the shore of Loch Indaal in the center of the isle Islay. Founded in 1779 it is one of the oldest distilleries in Sotland, owned by the japanese Suntory Group. The water comes from the River Laggan.
