Auchentoshan 2013 Signatory – 46%

The Auchentoshan distillery (“Corner of the Field”) is located on the western outskirts of Glasgow, close to the River Clyde and the Erskine Bridge. Although it uses water from the Kilpatrick Hills—which are part of the Highland whisky region—Auchentoshan is classified as a Lowland whisky. It is the only remaining distillery to employ the triple-distillation process—once typical and commonplace in this region—using three stills of varying sizes; this method yields a whisky that is smooth and aromatic. According to tradition, the distillery was founded around 1800.
