This Arran is the oldest whisky bottled by the distillery to date; it was distilled in 1995, the distillery’s first year of production. The whisky was then left to mature in a bourbon hogshead for over 30 years before finally being bottled by Cadenhead’s for the Campeltown Malts Festival in 2026.

The distillery Arran is located on the head of an island that owns the same name and lays between the western coast of Scotland and the peninsula Kintryre. The island Arran has good access from Glasgow by car and ferry. The distillery started producing in 1995 on time delay, because of a pair of Golden Eagles that hatched right where the distillery was supposed to be build. It was built by Harold Currie, who had been very successful in the whisky industrie and even was director of Chevas. With building the distillery a big dream for him came true.
