Miltonduff, also Milton Duff or Milton-Duff, was built in 1824 on the grounds of the Pluscarden monastery in the town of the same name near Elgin and rebuilt in 1895. It was renovated in 1974 and 1999, and in 1974 two stills were installed to produce the Mosstowie whisky. Your water still comes from the Black Burn. Their whisky is a main component of the Ballantines blend.

This 2011 Miltoduff belongs to the Innocent Dram series of the independent bottler Malts of Scotland. It was matured in a bourbon barrel with the number MoS 21008.

A spicy, caramelised fruitiness of baked cranberry and apricot cake gives way to a deep, heavy sweetness. Hints of demerara sugar, sultanas and Lyle's black treacle underneath. Peanut brittle and ginger spice emerge.
