With Lochlea, the Scottish distillery landscape has recently grown to include an independent, family-run farm distillery. It is not only the former Laphroaig Distillery Manager and current Lochlea Production Director and Master Blender, John Campbell, who is responsible for the unmistakable style of their single malt. As one of only four distilleries in Scotland, Lochlea uses only barley from its own cultivation and distills and matures its whisky on site. From the field to the bottle, the Lochlea Single Malt is thus traceable – in keeping with the distillery’s motto, “Dare to be honest”.
