The Cardhu "Secret Blossom of Black Rock" matured for 14 years in Refill American Oak with Red Wine Finish and is part of Diageo's Special Releases. Tasting Note: Fresh plums from the start. Lightly peated with moss, cloves and old coloured magazines. Plamier, dried salted plums, especially at the bottom of the glass. I could also observe pumpkin tempura through the menthol. On the palate, sweet canned apricot, salted lemon, black pepper, burnt wood and moss. Bitter and sharp, also quite spicy for this ABV. Cinnamon, earth, sultanas, dried mushrooms, ginseng and beetroot show in the finish.
