The Islay distillery Bruichladdich, whose name means “beach corner”, was built in 1881 by the Harley brothers. After the distillery was closed for some time, it was announced on December 20, 2000 that it would soon be working again. Already in May 2001 the first newmake flowed out of the stills. Bruichladdich’s success is closely linked to the work of one of the most important men in the Scottish whisky scene – Jim McEwan. The distillery changed hands again in 2012 for £ 58m. Current owner is Remy Cointreau.

This bottling is a 20-year-old Bruichladdich from bourbon cask number 1128. The whisky matured from 2003 to 2024 and was bottled as a private cask with an alcohol strength of 58.1%. In terms of taste, this whisky delivers exactly what one would expect from its specifications. Fresh aromas with notes of lemongrass, a touch of vanilla, and a pleasant malt note dominate the nose. The taste of this 20-year-old creamy Islay single malt is extremely complex with tropical fruits, a subtle caramel sweetness, and slightly spicy oak notes. The finish is long, warming, and fresh, while the creamy and slightly spicy malt notes remain throughout. This is accompanied by a hint of smoke, suggesting that this whisky was the first production after a Port Charlotte or Octomore batch.

MAXIMUM 2 bottles per customer! Shipping is expected to begin on June 4, 2026. "Yellow Submarine III" marks the return of a true whisky legend. Released as a limited edition to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the distillery's revival, "Yellow Submarine III" commemorates a real-life event in the recent—and at times truly incredible—history of Bruichladdich. The story of the "Yellow Submarine" began 20 years ago, when Islay fishermen John Baker and Harold Hastie discovered a remote-controlled submersible off the coast of the distillery. The submersible was brought to Bruichladdich and stored there for safekeeping until the Ministry of Defence arrived to retrieve its lost property. To celebrate the safe return of the submersible, the distillery team presented the men who had recovered it with a bottle of the aptly named "Yellow Submarine." A reinterpretation of that original bottling, "Yellow Submarine III" is once again bottled at 14 years of age—this time matured in a precise blend of high-quality first-fill Bourbon and French red wine casks. Luxurious and refined, this single malt whisky presents notes of toasted hazelnuts and warm spices—underpinned by a subtle wave of sea salt that evokes its maritime roots.

"We believe that you should taste the origins of a whiskey. In so many ways it can tell the story of its homeland, the barley and the water - and the people who brought it to life. Before 18 Years ago we were able to win over the first Islay farmer to grow barley on Islay, an important step for our terroir vision. The Eighteen has the soul of Islay, organic and Scottish mainland barley - that is exactly what we consider “high provenance”. None The only barrel filled for The Bruichladdich Eighteen ever left the island of Islay afterwards. Every little detail - from the specific barley variety to the barrel maturity profile - is completely transparent and traceable. Over 50% of our barley is already grown on Islay Nevertheless, we also rely on barley from our farmer on the Scottish mainland. Eighteen has the soul of Islay, organic and mainland Scottish barley, with each variety and harvest year fully traceable from farm to bottle. TASTING NOTES FRAGRANCE: Intense scent of ripe peach and honeysuckle with floral hints of violet and lavender. The counterpart for the perfect balance is embodied by sweet and spicy notes that are reminiscent of vanilla, coconut and charred oak. Over time, a mixture of tropical fruits with melon, peach, apricot and citrus comes to the fore; the long maturation time in the wood reinforces opulent hints of honey, caramel and crème brûlée. TASTE: Very voluminous and almost viscous in texture. Honey, butterscotch and fresh fruit appear, followed by sweet oatmeal, barley sugar and toasted oak. The woody, spicy finish is reminiscent of tropical fruits with a touch of leather and honeycomb, which further enhance the sweet character of this special single malt." AFTERMATH: The typical Bruichladdich character also comes through very clearly in the aftertaste. The Eighteen has the classic minerality of a Bruichladdich single malt, perfectly balanced with oak, stone fruit and a delicate floral bouquet.

For the first time in the Cask Exploration series, the Port Charlotte SYC: 01 was matured mainly in Syrah barrels. The French producer shares our philosophy and passion for the terroir and has specialised in the production of organic and biodynamic wines, in which the soil and climate have a decisive influence on the process. Minimal intervention allows the different regions and soils to reveal their true character, making the wines - much like our Islay single malt whiskies - a truly authentic expression of their terroir. The Syrah, a red wine known for its powerful and full and full body, has given SYC: 01 rich notes of red fruits and layers of spice that complement the characteristic aromatic peat smoke of Port Charlotte. peat smoke of Port Charlotte. Nose: The sweetness of caramel is immediately apparent on the nose, followed by a blend of fresh fruit and a subtle hint of peat smoke. Notes of strawberries, red apples, apricot jam and mixed berries from the Syrah casks come to the fore, underpinned by a combination of oak and lingering smoke. Gentle spices from the oak together with ginger, marzipan and honey complement the fruity character, which is further enhanced by the oak smoked over the fire. Flavour: Toasted oak and elegant barbecue smoke envelop the palate, beautifully balanced with sweet fruit. Vibrant notes of candied peel, fresh mango, brown sugar and sweet chewing gum add lightness and complexity that cut through the smoke. A drop of water brings out the aromatic oak, while lavender and herbal notes combine with gentle honey, ground ginger and roasted coffee beans. Finish: While the sweetness of fruit and oak remains, a gentle wave of peat smoke is unmistakable on the finish. Roasted Brazil nuts, coconut and cocoa powder lend a delicate creaminess, while a hint of dried seaweed lingers.
