This Bowmore matured for the first 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, developing its typical vanilla and fruity flavours. It was then allowed to mature for a further two years in former Bordeaux wine casks, which previously contained Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

This 25-year-old Bowmore was distilled in 1995 and then matured first in full-size oak casks and then in octaves to its perfection. The cask made 82 bottles.

The Bowmore 11 Year Old ‘Essence of Islay’ underwent double maturation, first in bourbon casks and then in Spanish sherry casks.
