This 8-year-old Jamaica rum was made from 100% molasses from the company's own plantations. This wonderfully aromatic rum is characterized by its long, wild fermentation and its tropical maturation period of at least 8 years. Likewise, the rum from the Hampden Distillery is neither colored nor added with sugar.  

Rums from the Hampden Estate Distillery are very popular with connoisseurs worldwide. For the first time in its long history, the distillery presented its famous Marques in a limited set with The 8 Marks Collection at the beginning of 2023 - allowing discerning rum lovers an unprecedented journey into the heart of the distillery. This set focuses on the ester content of the various unaged distillates.

Not colored Not chilled / sweetened Tasting Notes: In the nose, the copper-colored rum immediately invites you on a tropical journey: pineapple, melon and a feast of Caribbean sweetness. Deep-fried banana with ginger and cinnamon, Jamaican plantain tards, overripe mango, creme brulee and candied lemon slices rise with honeysuckle blossom and eucalyptus. The palate is much drier than the nose suggests, with orange peel and tannins from the oak barrels. The syrupy texture is intertwined with aromas of intense espresso, but then produces sweet ginger cakes, clove, black pepper and warm cardamom rolls. There is also a hint of baked bananas, licorice, burnt caramel, juicy honeydew melon, nectarines, pimento berries and coconut. The finish is long-lasting and rounded off with more tropical fruits, completed by chilli jam, masala chai and vanilla.
