With the Savanna 10 Years Cognac Cask, one of the finest rums from the distillery's cellars finds its way to connoisseurs. Distilled from molasses in the C20 column still, it matured for a full decade in the climate of the tropical island. Finally, 640 cask-strength bottles were filled from the French oak barrel.

The full-bodied, fruity blend of traditional and Grand Arôme rums is tropically matured for up to 9 years - and was named Rum of the Year at Meininger's International Spirits Award ISW 2020. Tasting Notes: Nose: A basket full of fruit and sweets! Strong, fruity and fresh with banana, pear and white peach. Notes of sweetness invite you to enjoy it. When allowed to breathe, the nose becomes more complex, with honey and dried fruits such as sultanas, dates and apricots. This is joined by a lush hint of freshly baked bread and butter with woody undertones. Gaumen: Intense ripe fruits and small, soft fruits like wild strawberries or sour cherries. Towards the end, notes of milk chocolate ganache and toasted aromas add complexity.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Intense and herbal. Fresh sugar cane, liquorice, pepper, hints of smoke. Palate: Powerful and warm. Williams pear, strawberry, lime, hay. finish: long and balanced. Fresh mint, star anise, burnt gum.

The Savanna L'Absolu 2023 draws on the oldest Savanna stocks. The limited bottling embodies the distillery's extensive know-how in blending rare rums.

Elegant notes of exotic fruits, almonds and pâtisserie pastry. The distillery's liquid calling card matured in French oak cognac barrels just like Savanna Le Must. Tasting Notes: Nose: Invitingly fruity with mango, pineapple and passion fruit as well as almonds and marzipan. When allowed to breathe, pâtisserie notes of baba au rhum cake and brioche appear. Gaumen: Soft, tropical-fruity at first, then with hints of anise and mild spices like saffron and curry that bring structure.

Fifteen years of tropical maturation is equivalent to approximately 40 years on the continent. Savanna granted this intensive resting period to two single casks. The Savanna 15 y.o. – Cognac Cask #616 is a Rhum Traditionnel made from molasses – full-bodied and smooth, with subtle sweetness, grape, nutty, and floral notes.
