For the fifth special edition, the creators of Knut Hansen embarked on an exciting journey between fire and ice - it went to Iceland. There, not only the breathtaking natural beauty of the country was admired, but also deeply immersed in the (sometimes crazy) distillation culture and mysterious botanicals of the country. As a result, the VATNAJÖKULL Edition was produced on-site together with Hakon from Hovdenak Distillery at his unique Iceland vacuum still in Reykjavik - of course with local ingredients such as arctic thyme, Icelandic moss, reindeer moss, black crowberry and kelp seaweed, handpicked during the trip . Thanks to the local Icelandic expertise, the volcano-filtered water and the local botanicals, a unique recipe has been developed and the impressions and experiences brought together in 500ml. Of course, great importance was again attached to the appropriate bottle design. The front is adorned with a drawing by the Icelandic artist Hlíf Una and the corks with the individualized thalers also provide a collector's item. As every year, our special edition is strictly limited to 3,000 bottles. Part of the proceeds will support an Icelandic nature conservation organization that works locally to protect the glaciers.
