The perfect addition to the new series is the Octomore 15.3, which is made from 100% Islay barley was distilled. The barley comes from
the Octomore Farm, 2 miles away, and gives the 15.3 an impressive complexity and its powerful character. The elegant smoke harmonizes wonderfully with ripe fruit notes. The particularly slow distillation shows once again that you can taste the origin. Sea breeze, sweet barley malt from the island and a feeling of home.

Nose

Smoked toffee, malt sugar, sweet honey and fresh citrus notes

Taste

Round and velvety, butterscotch, vanilla cream and lightly toasted oak, accompanied by dry smoke

Finish

Caramelized sugar, coconut, sea spray and the earthy smoke so typical of Octomore

The distillery was founded in 1816 by George Montgomery. It is located on the island Islay in Port Charlotte. 1852 the distillery was taken over by Thomas Pattinson and got shut down in the same year. Although there were plans in 2008 to reopen the distillery by Bruichladdich, they were not realised. But since the same year Bruichladdich is bottling a heavy peated Single Malt called Octomore.
