Mackmyra Destination is a non-peated whisky, largely matured in casks that previously held port and oloroso. These casks give the whisky deep notes of red grapes, sultanas and a beautiful maroon colour. Together with American oak casks that contribute notes of vanilla caramel, the end result is balanced, yet complex and round.

Mackmyra is the most northern distillery, located in Gävle northern of Stockholm. There were eight friends on their whisky holiday in 1998 drinking whisky, who had the idea to produce their own Swedish whisky. Already one year later they founded the company and distillery „Mackmyra Svenks Whisky AB“, at that time the first Swedish Whisky Distillery.
