The Lochlea Harvest Edition (First Crop) is the new whisky of the “Seasonal Releases”. The series comprises limited seasonal bottlings. Each of them shows Lochlea Single Malt in a different light. And: what happens on the farm as the seasons change. The Harvest Edition is inspired by the harvest season.
Late summer sunsets and the post-harvest deep red soil of Ayrshire are captured on the label. In the bottle, the whisky captures the onset of the transitional season with notes like stewed apples, oat biscuits and toasted marshmallows. For this, the single malt was matured in port hogsheads, oloroso sherry butts and first fill bourbon barrels.

With Lochlea, the Scottish distillery landscape has recently grown to include an independent, family-run farm distillery. It is not only the former Laphroaig Distillery Manager and current Lochlea Production Director and Master Blender, John Campbell, who is responsible for the distinctive style of their single malt. As one of only four distilleries in Scotland, Lochlea uses only barley from its own cultivation and distils and matures its whisky on site. From the field to the bottle, Lochlea single malt is traceable – in keeping with the distillery’s motto, “Dare to be honest”.
