The distillery Linkwood was founded in 1821 by Peter Brown and completely rebuilt by his Sohn William in 1871. It is located in the Speyside, south of Elgin next to the Lossie and surrounded by forest. The water that is used for producing the whisky comes from springs of the Loch Milbuis. Nowadays Linkwood is owned by Diageo.

Vintage whiskies from a closed distillery, single malts from rare single casks – Signatory Vintage seeks out exclusive Scotch whiskies for its bottlings. More than 10,000 hogsheads, butts and the like are stored in the halls of the independent bottler. Signatory releases bottlings from this wooden treasure in various series. The orange tubes are synonymous with (entry-level) whiskies with a pleasant drinking strength of 43% vol. Now Signatory is discontinuing the series.
The Highlander from the foot of the mountain of the same name, the Ben Nevis 2014/2022, matured in casks pre-loaded with sherry of the Oloroso type, as did the spicy Ardmore 2010/2022 and the light, fruity Linkwood 2013/2022 from Speyside.
