Founded in 1798, the distillery has borne the name Tobermory as well as Ledaig throughout its eventful history with many closures. It is located in the town of Tobermory on the island of Mull and thus belongs to the Highlands category. Today, two single malts are made at the distillery using Loch Mishnish water: unpeated Tobermory and peated Ledaig.
