Lagavulin, which means “mill in the valley”, is one of the most typical Islay whiskies. The distillery was founded in 1816 at its current location on the south coast of the island of Islay. The 16-year-old standard Lagavulin is one of the world’s most famous whiskies. It belongs to the Classic Malts, i.e. the owner is the Diageo company.
