Lagavulin means as much as 'mill in the hollow of a valley' and is one of the typical Islay-Wiskys. The distillery was founded in 1816 at the same place it is located today, at the southern shore of the island. The sixteen years old standard bottling is one of the most famous whiskys in the world. It belongs to the Classic Malts which are owned by Diageo.
