The Genesis Series by Kilchoman is a limited bottling in which the distillery wants to present all the important points of whisky production. Stage 3 is about the process of peating. The whisky was matured in different proportions in three types of casks: 70% bourbon, 25% STR and 5% sherry.

The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.
