Glenfiddich Orchard – 43%

Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment is a Scotch whiskey that swims against the tide. The fifth bottling of the Experimental Series complements the series with a summery, fruity single malt in which the depth and intensity of the whisky are balanced with the delicate sweetness of Somerset apples.

Pre-selected Glenfiddich whiskys were finished for approximately 4 months in casks sourced from family-run The Somerset Cider Brandy Co. which previously contained sweet Pomona. Somerset Pomona is an apple liqueur. The secret blend of the freshly squeezed juice of the finest apples and Somerset Cider Brandy matures in oak barrels for 2 years. This is exactly what Glenfiddich uses for the refinement of Orchard Expermient. The result: an incredibly fruity and sweet whisky for the summer season.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: The classic fruity Glenfiddich notes, reminiscent of pear, peach and mirabelle plum, are highlighted and accentuated by the subsequent aging in Pomona casks.
Flavour: Ripe orchard fruit gives way to sweet, creamy toffee, caramelized apple and woody spice.
Finish: Long-lasting sweetness.
