John Glaser and his team based their Experimental Grain Whisky on a batch of Loch Lomond whisky, which, excitingly, is not a grain. It is based exclusively on peated barley malt, but is distilled in the Coffey Still. Therefore, it cannot be called malt. Compass Box describes the whisky with notes of pear, vanilla and smoke as “single grain”. Exotic fruity components from North British, spicy-sweet single grain from Cameronbridge and the creamy Compass Box Blended Grain Hedonism masterfully round off the appetising limited edition.
