The extraordinary whisky diversity of the Hercynian Distilling Co. is based as much on high craftsmanship and a love of experimentation as it is on a wide range of casks pre-loaded with southern and sweet wines. The latest example: the ElsBurn Ruby Port Cask. The original Hercynian single malt spent its entire maturation in high-quality Ruby Port Casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal, the oldest wine-growing region in the world with a protected designation of origin. A total of 1,404 bottles were bottled.
