The Edradour Distillery is located some miles west of Pitlorchy and belongs to the Highlands. It probably was founded 1825 and is the only distillery in Scotland that still exists in the style of a farmer house and it is also the smallest distillery in Scotland. The two stills only produce 15 casks each week. The former distillery Ballechin doesn’t exist anymore and this is why this peated variety of the Edradour is bottled with that name.

Distilled in 1999, this whisky was initially matured in ex-bourbon casks for 13 years before being transferred to a small batch of 25 freshly bottled Premier Grand Cru Bordeaux casks on 11 July 2013. Cask numbers 805 and 806 were selected for this bottling and the whisky was aged in these casks for 92 months. The whisky has an orange colour and reveals notes of barley sugar, jelly beans, sugared cereals and candied orange peel.
