It developed its full-bodied profile with quince and honeydew melon in a French first fill Sauternes cask.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Initially distinctly sweet and fruity, gradually adding vanilla, quince and apricot. As the intensity fades, honeydew melon becomes more prominent.

Palate: Smooth, with a distinctly grassy note and very sweet. A fine pepper note flashes in the background, replaced by quince, pear and fully ripe honeydew melon. Full-bodied and further sweet.

Finish: Medium-long and very sweet with fading fruit and a light herbal note.

]]> North British was founded in 1895 by the North British Distillery Company. The distillery was independent until 1983, today it belongs to Diageo. The production volume is around 5 million liters of alcohol per month.

Distilled from the first-class Oldmeldrum barley, the single malt spoils explorers with herbs, cherries and chocolate.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Typical Glen Garioch nose with fine herbs, cane sugar and red fruits such as young, not yet fully ripe cherries, which become more intense and lush. Add chocolate.

Palate: After a gentle start, powerful aromas of herbs appear, followed by cherries, cane sugar, milk chocolate and finally some oak.

Finish: Long, warm and fruity with fine herbs. Astringent towards the end.

]]> The distillery Glen Garioch is located in the eastern Highlands in the center of Oldmeldrum. It is not distinct when it exactly was founded. Nevertheless it is clear that it is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, starting producing before 1800. Nowadays the distillery is owned by Suntory.
