At first glance, this may not be the most spectacular type of cask, but this particular cask was all the more surprising.

According to Distillery Manager Alistair, it is one of the best bourbon barrels he has ever found. The particularly intense flavour that the OZ Tyler Bourbon (a craft bourbon from Kentucky) left behind in the Clydeside Single Malt delighted everyone present at the barrel selection.

]]> The Clydeside Distillery is located in the heart of Glasgow. The distillery buildings were built as early as 1877 as the Queen’s Dock pump house. Since 2017, the buildings have been developed as a whisky distillery, and the first whisky has been on sale since 2021. The distillery was planned by Morrison Glasgow Distillers, who have also been known in the whisky scene since 2004 with the independent bottler A.D. Rattray.

]]> Clydeside 2018 Tawny Port – 55% https://www.whizita.de/en/product/clydeside-2018-tawny-port-55/ Fri, 09 May 2025 11:02:36 +0000 https://www.whizita.de/?post_type=product&p=171840 Clydeside ‘Vibrant Stills’ Tawny Port Cask Finish (Cask No. 006F) was distilled in June 2018 and first matured in a fresh bourbon barrel before being transferred to a top port cask for an intensive one-year final maturation.

Bottled at 55% alcohol strength, it has a delicate pink colour with a silky scent of grapes, raspberry drops and rose petals. Malt sugar, wine gums and some cherry-cocoa flavours then take over on the tongue.
