The single cask was produced by Monique Destribats in 1985 in the picturesque village of Labastide d'Armagnac, which stands on sandy soils. Consisting of half Baco and half Colombard grapes, this rarity was continuously distilled to 60% and bottled in January 2025 at a still cask strength of 40% vol.

Its beautiful amber colour with mahogany and gold nuances leads to remarkably fine aromas. Candied orange peel, nougat and gingerbread meet acacia honey, liquorice, vanilla and fresh tobacco. The palate impresses with great balance, a velvety mouthfeel and a freshness that defies the long ageing process.

]]> Francis Darroze and his son Marc roam the Gascony countryside as treasure hunters. The search objects? Special Armagnacs. About forty wineries from the heart of Bas-Armagnac contribute to the exceptional collection of the Darroze house. The independent bottlers buy their distillates either using a mobile distiller, which traditionally makes its rounds after the harvest, or already in barrel storage. In the in-house cellars, these often rare, several generations old casks or brandies are perfected by small producers.

]]> We have a pretty amicable friendship with the distillery Glenfarclas and especially with George Grant.
Glenfarclas means as much ‘valley of the green grassland’. It was built in 1836 by Robert Hay and bought by John Grant in 1865. Until today it still is owned by the family Grant. The family brings out standard bottlings as well as outstanding special bottlings with foresight and continuity. We had the great chance to choose several casks personally and do our own bottlings. Since 2006 George Grants visits in Itzehoe are one of our highlights we experienced. The mainly used Oloroso Sherry Casks give the whisky its character, that is pretty special and appreciated by whisky experts in the whole world.
