Distilled in 2020 at the historic Edradour Distillery, the spirit was aged for six years in select first-fill Pedro Ximénez hogsheads. This specific cask selection and the fact that they were first-fill casks ensure an intense interaction between the spirit and the sugary-sweet sherry character, before the whiskey was bottled unfiltered and uncolored in 2026 for the Anniversary Series.

Visually, the liquid has a warm honey hue that hints at its dense texture. The bouquet reveals concentrated aromas of raisins and dried plums, underscored by a delicate honeyed sweetness and Christmas spices such as cinnamon. On the palate, the full power of the aging process unfolds: full-bodied notes of dark chocolate and creamy toffee meet a structuring oak spice that leads into a long-lasting, complex finish.

]]> The distillery is located a few miles west of Pitlochry, near Moulin, and is part of the Highlands whisky region. It was likely founded in 1825 and is the only Scottish distillery that has been preserved entirely in the style of a farmhouse distillery. As a result, it was also Scotland’s smallest distillery for a long time. The two stills produced just 15 barrels per week. Today’s production capacity stands at around 500,000 liters of pure alcohol per year, following the completion of an expansion of the distillery in February 2018.

The single cask spent its entire six-year aging period under tropical conditions in the humid cellar, known as the Chai Humide. The interaction with the ex-cognac barrel is intensified by the warm climate, giving the distillate a depth that would only be achieved after decades in continental climates.

This rum pours into the glass with a rich honey hue, revealing a complex bouquet of ripe yellow fruits, candied citrus notes, and a delicate vanilla sweetness underscored by cedarwood. On the palate, the powerful presence of 64% ABV is evident, yet it is masterfully integrated into flavors of ripe orange, dark caramel, and distinctive toasted notes. A subtle hint of nutmeg and dry, woody nuances lead into a long-lasting finish characterized by delicate tannins.

]]> The Savanna Distillery is located on the shores of the Indian Ocean, at the foot of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano. Rum has been handcrafted here since the 19th century in La Réunion, a French overseas department and a sugarcane paradise. However, the distillery and its exquisite bottlings as we know them today trace their origins back to Émile Hugot. Internationally known as “Monsieur Sucre,” he led Savanna into the future starting in the 1950s, drawing on his extensive expertise in sugar.

At the heart of Savanna lies high-quality rhum agricole, rhum traditionnel, and Grand Arôme rum—which the distillery is one of the few in the world to produce. The full-bodied molasses rum undergoes extensive fermentation and develops a high ester content, similar to typical Jamaican rums. Unusually for distilleries in France’s overseas departments, Savanna processes both fresh sugarcane juice and molasses in column and pot stills—but only between July and November.

Free of any additives and unfiltered at cold temperatures, Savanna Rums reveal multifaceted, authentic flavors that reflect the island’s wild beauty.

This special single malt was distilled in September 2019 and matured for over six years in a selected sherry butt with cask number 19357. Bottled in March 2026 exclusively for Kirsch Import’s 50th anniversary, this whiskey is presented in its purest form: non-chill-filtered, without added colorants, and at an impressive 62.0% ABV straight from the cask.

On the nose, an opulent bouquet of ripe dark fruits and sweet dried fruits unfolds, underpinned by delicate honey and creamy vanilla. On the palate, the whiskey is full-bodied and malty, with the sweetness of caramel blending harmoniously with nutty accents and spicy oak. The finish is long-lasting and complex, characterized by notes of cocoa and a surprising, subtle salty nuance that subtly evokes the distillery’s coastal location.

]]> The Kanosuke Distillery is located on Fukiagehama, one of Japan’s longest sandy beaches. In the southwestern part of the country, where the East China Sea meets Japan, the climatic conditions are ideal for whiskey: mild summers and wild, windy winters ensure rapid maturation of the distillates. Critics worldwide agree: even after a short time, the bottlings taste far more mature than their age would suggest. They are aged primarily in freshly charred American oak casks that were previously used to age the parent company’s acclaimed “Mellowed Kozuru” shochu.

In 2017, Kanosuke began operations with three unique pot stills: each differs in the shape of its neck and the angle of its lyne arm. Whether through redistillation in different stills or by blending distillates from the pot still trio, Kanosuke is capable (as proven time and again at competitions) of creating whiskies with great depth and an exceptionally smooth texture.

The independent bottler Best Dram has preserved this single cask in its purest form: unfiltered, with its natural color, and at a robust cask strength of 58.2% ABV. The distillate was then bottled, with the labels depicting the idyllic scenery of the distillery.

The water used comes from the same region. The aging process in oak barrels takes place at an elevation of 900 meters in Bangalore, India’s “Garden City.”

]]> With Lochlea, the Scottish distillery landscape has recently grown to include an independent, family-run farm distillery. The former Laphroaig Distillery Manager and current Lochlea Production Director and Master Blender, John Campbell, is not the only person responsible for the unmistakable style of their single malt. Lochlea is one of only four distilleries in Scotland to use exclusively home-grown barley and distils and matures its whisky on site. The Lochlea single malt is therefore traceable from the field to the bottle – true to the distillery’s motto, “Dare to be honest”.

]]> The Bunnahabhain distillery is located at the kyle of Islay at the edge of the island in the northeast and lays that isolated, that there had to be constructed a long and curvy street down to the sea as it was built in 1881.The water that is used has its origin in an underground spring from the river Margadale and therefore it comes from Islay it has a relatively low concentration of peat. Until 2003 it was owned by an descendant of the founder, Highland Distillers. Nowadays it is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.
