Distilled in 1993, this blended Scotch is a composition of exquisite single malts and grain whiskies from the Speyside, Highland, and Lowland regions, having rested for 32 years in a traditional Oloroso sherry butt. A distinctive feature of this cask is its exceptionally thick staves, which facilitate a particularly slow and steady interaction between the wood and the spirit. Limited to just 560 bottles, this 2026 release represents a rare piece of Scottish whisky history.

In the glass, the whisky displays a deep, natural mahogany hue, achieved entirely without artificial coloring. The bouquet entices with delicate orange oils, sweet spices, and the scent of aged oak. On the palate, an elegant texture unfolds, characterized by notes of barley sugar, dried fruits, and a subtle floral nuance. The finish is long-lasting and classic, with hints of heather and the distinctive aroma of a genuine vintage malt leaving a lasting impression.

In total, the barrel produced 127 whiskies from the distillery, which has been closed since 1998.

]]> The Imperial Distillery was founded in 1897 and production started in 1898. The distillery was closed a year later. Until its demolition in 2013, the distillery was only in operation for 46 years. The Dalmunach distillery has been in the same place since 2015.

]]> Founded in 1798, the Highland Park distillery in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands is the northernmost distillery in Scotland. Due to its special location, especially the peat in Orkney, which differs significantly from the Islay peat, the whisky has a special taste. One of its basic flavours is the much-cited “heather sweetness”. The water comes from a lower spring, Cattie Maggie’s Quarry.

The whisky was bottled on the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III.

Official Tasting Note:

This light gold-coloured whisky is beatifully complex on the nose with gentle Islay peat, sea-spray, medicinal notes, lemon zest and leather notes. Beach bonfire, seaweed, more citrus and wonderfully delcate Islay peat notes on the palate, leading into a long, lingering satisfying finish.

]]> Laphroaig means as much as ‘valley at the big white bay’ and was founded by Donald and Alex Johnston in 1826. It is located at the southern shore of Islay. The whisky is famous for its smokey-phenolic, iodine-containing and salty character. Laphroaig has its own peat fields – which can be reached by the shortest railway of the world – and also has own malting floors.

This 32-year-old originally bottled Caol Ila, on the other hand, is probably really one. This whisky was bottled for the Wu Dram Clan, Bram and Floris & Pierrick and is limited to 181 bottles. It was matured for the entire duration in a refill American Oak Hogshead with the number 6223. The whisky itself is excellently balanced. It is more delicate on the nose, but definitely more powerful and full-bodied on the palate. It brings maritime, but also light fruity notes and citrus fruits.

]]> The distillery is located north of Port Askaig on the isle Islay directly at the kyle of Islay. From the distillery you have a wonderful view of the isle Jura. It was built in 1846 and since 1974 it has a completely new stillhouse with six stills. It is owned by Diageo and can be mentioned as a good example for a ‘working house’ that mainly produces for blends for Johnnie Walker.

Because of this special location and the special peat on Orkney the whisky has a peculiar taste. One aroma that is described very often to be found is the ‘sweetness of heather’.
