Deanston 2011 Best Dram – 59.3%

The Deanston 2011/2023 matured in a 1st fill PX sherry barrel. One of the rare independent bottlings of the Highland distillery unfolds at 59.3% vol. Cask Strength a full-bodied, dark sweetness.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Dark red fruits such as black cherries, plus plum jam, rum-grape-nut chocolate and – very late – a hint of lovage.

Palate: Full-bodied, heavy, dark and sweet. Notes of well-matured sherry blend with molasses, currants, a renewed touch of lovage and dark chocolate.

Finish: Slightly too long caramelized cane sugar, molasses and dark chocolate, fading into tannins on the finish.
