Distilled in both pot and column stills, the Cuvée Nova matured for 659 days in the finest American and French oak casks.

Nova combines roasted aromas and wood tones with the sweetness of maple, vanilla and chocolate as well as fruity notes of peach before fading out silky-soft.

]]> Mark Reynier has become the mouthpiece for terroir whiskies – single malts with the flavour of their origin – especially since the start of his Waterford Distillery. He has transferred his search for the quintessence of individual terroirs and the ultimate whole that they produce together to the rum category. A year ago, the first distillate flowed from the stills of the Renegade Rum Distillery on the tiny Caribbean island of Grenada. Largely run by Grenada residents, Reynier had been planning the innovative distillery since 2015, and now the longed-for first Renegade Rums are here.

Farm by farm, field by field, terroir by terroir, the Single Farm Origin Rums Grenada represent in terms of taste – and in a 100% traceable transparent way. Renegade presses fresh sugar cane juice from six sugar cane varieties from 45 different terroirs. In addition to a column still, a pot still with double retort still is available for diverse distillation – and barrels made of French, American and exotic oak for diverse maturation.

]]> River Antoine Estate is located on Grenada’s paradisiacal northeast coast. Founded in 1785, the distillery produces one of the most legendary rums in the Caribbean: Rivers. The white rum, produced in very limited quantities using traditional and natural processes, was only sold on the Caribbean island itself and was not available for export. Until recently. La Maison and Velier are now bringing the rum rarity to fans in Europe.

On 15 hectares near the Atlantic, River Antoine Estate grows its own sugar cane according to organic standards. Harvested by hand, the sweet grass is crushed with an antique water mill. The reason: Production runs entirely without electricity. Only around 3,000 liters of fresh sugar cane juice can be processed every day. River Antoine Estate is the only distillery in the world to concentrate its juice in metal pans over an open fire. After spontaneous, wild fermentation and distillation in John Dore Double Twisted Pot Stills, the luscious rum is slightly diluted with 75% vol. bottled – for export there is a “light version” with 69% vol.
