Behind this distillate stands the renowned Maison Vallein Tercinier, which has been based at the Domaine des Forges in Chermignac since 1850. For this special XO Old Cigar Blend, long-aged eaux-de-vie were carefully blended to create a balance between venerable age and vibrant freshness. Bottled at 46% ABV, this expression underscores the artisanal commitment to imparting structure and body to the spirit without overshadowing the subtle elegance of its origin.

On the nose, a refined bouquet unfolds, carried by ripe tropical fruits and juicy stone fruits. On the palate, the cognac is full-bodied and remarkably creamy, with chocolatey sweetness and notes of caramelized almonds setting the tone. Francis Darroze and his son Marc roam the Gascony countryside as treasure hunters. The search objects? Special Armagnacs. About forty wineries from the heart of Bas-Armagnac contribute to the exceptional collection of the Darroze house. The independent bottlers buy their distillates either using a mobile distiller, which traditionally makes its rounds after the harvest, or already in barrel storage. In the in-house cellars, these often rare, several generations old casks or brandies are perfected by small producers.

Although the official founding date of the distillery in 1835 is around 14 years after Napoleon Bonaparte’s death, rumors persist to this day that the Curvoisier distillery is his favorite cognac. Stories say that he visited the distillery in 1811 and took several barrels with him into exile.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import, this blend was created with an alcohol content of 49.0 % vol. to authentically reflect the power and character of the region.

The bouquet unfolds a complex interplay of ripe stone fruits, with apricot and pear particularly prominent, elegantly complemented by a subtle citrus note. This Cognac from the Hasue Pasquet was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2023 from Limousin Oak Cask #72.

The limited-edition creations in the Confluences range are a combination of exquisite snapshots from the second-generation-run house, which together form an even greater whole.

Symphonie des Terroirs No. 2 is a multi-cru blend from three barrels, each from different terroirs: Grande Champagne L.57/62 (15%), Fins Bois L.81 (50%) and Borderies L.90s (35%). Balanced between the freshness of the Borderies, the roundness of the Fins Bois and the length of the Grande Champagne, the cognac expresses the character of each cru.
