]]> Fettercairn is located in the eastern Highlands south of the Cairngorms. It was founded by Sir Alexander Ramsay in 1824 and was the second distillery which got an official distilling licence.

Last summer, the brand known for its award-winning, smoky blended malt whiskeys enjoyed a revival as the home of premium small-batch bottlings. Masterfully supervised by whiskey luminary Billy Walker, they mature in selected, innovative casks and flow into the elegant, heavy bottles, neither chill-filtered nor colored. The first cask strength bottling is now available.

For his Lum Reek Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey 10 yo. Billy Walker marries vintage single malts from the Highlands, Speyside and the Isle of Islay with aged GlenAllachie single malt. The result: harmony of peat and fruit. The blended malt Scotch matures in high-quality Spanish sherry casks, wine barriques and virgin oak casks, which refine its peat-smoky and rich, fruity character. The full aroma unfolds at a natural cask strength of 55.4% vol.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Waves of smoke, heather honey and ginger merging with cinnamon, syrup and vanilla.
Palate: Lush dark chocolate, ginger and citrus, with smoked spices, plantains and tannins.

]]> The distillery Arran is located on the head of an island that owns the same name and lays between the western coast of Scotland and the peninsula Kintryre. The island Arran has good access from Glasgow by car and ferry. The distillery started producing in 1995 on time delay, because of a pair of Golden Eagles that hatched right where the distillery was supposed to be build. It was built by Harold Currie, who had been very successful in the whisky industrie and even was director of Chevas. With building the distillery a big dream for him came true.
