The Glasgow Distillery proves that it is sustainably successful in burning a new whisky chapter in the history of its home city, among other things with varied small-batch bottlings. The 1770 Glasgow 2018/2022 - Red Wine & Ruby Port Cask Finish is the Glaswegians' most experimental release to date: for the first time, two spirit styles have been combined, each of which has undergone two different maturation processes. Peated single malt matured in virgin oak casks and received a finish in Bordeaux red wine casks, while triple-distilled single malt matured in first fill bourbon casks and was refined in Ruby Port casks. From a total of six casks, which the urban distillers blended together at the end of 2022, 1,925 bottles were bottled at 57.5% vol. without cold filtration and in natural colour.
