Until 2003 it was owned by an descendant of the founder, Highland Distillers. Nowadays it is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.

For its work on the high seas, Sea Shepherd relies on donations – for example from the sale of whisky. Signatory Vintage is now supporting the marine conservationists again with a special bottling, some of the proceeds of which go directly to Sea Shepherd. And because nothing is more appropriate than a single malt whose rough, maritime notes reflect the character of the environmental pirates, the choice fell on the Bunnahabhain 2012/2024.
The eleven-year-old Islay whisky matured entirely in a single first fill sherry butt. 850 bottles are ready to help Sea Shepherd defend the oceans.
