Bruichladdich Glencairn Glass

The Islay distillery Bruichladdich, whose name means “beach corner”, is the most westerly Scottish distillery ever. It was built in 1881 by the Harley brothers. After the distillery had been closed for some time, it was announced on 20.12.2000 that it would soon be working again. Already in May 2001, the first Newmake flowed from the stills. Bruichladdich’s success is closely linked to the work of one of the most important men on the Scotch whisky scene – Jim McEwan. In 2012, the distillery changed hands again for £58 million. The current owner is Remy Cointreau.
