The distillery Bruichladdich, which means as much as ‘corner of the beach’ is the most essential distillery generally. It was built 1881 by the Harley Brothers. After the distillery was shut down for a period of time there was proclaimed on the 20th of December 2000 that it would be re-opened again. Already in May 2001 there came the first newmake out of the stills. The success of the distillery is closely connected with the activities of one of the most significant men in the whisky industry whose name is Jim McEwan. In 2012 the distillery once again changed its owner for 58 Million pounds and is now owned by Remy Cointreau.

Brilliant aromatic bouquet of sweet malt sugar with a hint of mint and a scent of freshly cut wildflowers such as buttercup, daisy, myrtle, cowslip and cherry blossom.
Clean and clear, aromas of spray and thrift reminding us that this whiskey is aged on Islay, in a climate heavily influenced by the sea. After five minutes and a few drops of spring water, fruity notes emerge: citrus candy and honey, tangerine and butterscotch.
