A mysterious work of art from the symbiosis of nature, craftsmanship and time. What is inside each
Barrels happened in the dark of the warehouses remains a mystery. Black Art 10 is the expression of these unfathomable processes. The rare casks all date from the time before the Bruichladdich distillery reopened and therefore matured on the Hebridean island of Islay for almost three decades before they were secretly married by head distiller Adam Hannett.
Only Adam knows what went into creating this precious 29-year-old single malt. He enjoys full trust and complete freedom. Barley, cask types and composition remain his secret. True to the motto “no rules, no restrictions”, Black Art 10.1 is unique and unrepeatable. Unpeated and matured in the finest oak, this tenth edition of Black Art is a perfect fusion of confidence and creativity.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Warm and inviting with notes of toasted oak, chocolate, cedar, leather and some cinnamon and clove. The elegant fruitiness is reminiscent of sweet apricot jam, ripe melon, and cherries
Black Currants. The finale is a trio of refreshing citrus scents with honey-dipped ones
Gooseberries, floral notes (geranium and honeysuckle) as well as masculine iodine and leather aromas.
Flavour: Malt sugar, ginger biscuits and lemon tart with meringue topping. Here, too, you can see the preserved apricots, but garnished with nutty marzipan. The toasted oak brings out aromas reminiscent of chocolate, vanilla and fruit in syrup. Raisins, plums and melons complete the fruit basket. After a while, iodine, coconut with spicy ginger and cinnamon come to mind. The texture appears incredibly soft and velvety.
