The whisky was finished in a Calvados cask and has a cask strength of 49.7%. Basically, the whisky is accompanied by a pleasant sweetness and fruitiness, which is perfectly complemented by the typical Bunnahabhain spiciness.

]]> The Bunnahabhain distillery is located at the kyle of Islay at the edge of the island in the northeast and lays that isolated, that there had to be constructed a long and curvy street down to the sea as it was built in 1881.The water that is used has its origin in an underground spring from the river Margadale and therefore it comes from Islay it has a relatively low concentration of peat.
Until 2003 it was owned by an descendant of the founder, Highland Distillers. Nowadays it is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.

The malty-sweet, oily whisky is complemented by fruity, earthy components from Highland Park, a hint of coastal smoke from Caol Ila and heavy, leathery and dark-fruity blend components from sherry casks. Composed in this way, the blended Scotch rarity succeeds in recreating what it is named after: Vellichor, the unique atmosphere of antique shops. Typical for Compass Box, the packaging also matches the contents. Vellichor is delivered in gift packaging designed as a book.
