The whisky matured for 16 years and was finished in a PX sherryn barrel and then bottled with 53.8%.

]]> Port Dundas is a Whisky Distillery that was in Glasgow and is shut down since 2010. There used to be two distilleries with that name that produced Malt Whisky unti 1845. 1877 those distilleries were merged together.

The result: soft, spicy, wonderful.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Buttered honey cake, cherries, caramelised cane sugar and roasted almonds, and finally fine herbs.

Palate: Creamy and soft with honey cake, shortbread and caramelised cane sugar. In addition - now more present - herbs and a hint of cherries.

Finish: Decreasing sweetness, honey and herbs.

]]> The distillery was founded in 1964 and is named like the highest-located village of Scotland. It is located in an romantic area near Ballindaloch. The water the distillery uses comes from the Ballantruan Spring. Most part of the produced whisky is used for making Blends, especially the White & Mackay.

]]> Annandale 2015 Best Dram – 57,2% https://www.whizita.de/en/product/annandale-2015-best-dram-572/ Wed, 04 Aug 2021 12:56:59 +0000 https://www.whizita.de/?post_type=product&p=67571 Matured for 5 years in first fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, this single malt is still one of the older bottlings from the distillery that was revived in 2014.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Fresh and grassy with subtle nutty aromas, subtle sweetness and dates. Red berries in the background and slightly chocolaty at the end.

Palate: Smooth attack with an oily, nutty sweetness. Brazil nut, ripe pears, cane sugar, and sweetened black tea are finally joined by spice and restrained oak notes.

Finish: Decreasing fruit and sweetness with spicy notes and some oak.
