The distillery is located south of Wigtown at the riverside of the Bladnoch where it also gets its water from. It is the distillery that lays most southern in Scotland and belongs to the lowlands. It was found in 1817 and nowadays still is active.

Bladnoch Distillery launches Bladnoch “Liora” in the Core Range (which Bladnoch calls their “Classic Collection”), the first bottling with higher strength. Master Blender Dr. Nick Savage has used Virgin Oak casks on the one hand and Fresh Bourbon Barrels on the other for the latest bottling from Bladnoch and has decided on a higher alcohol strength in order to present the influence of the fresh American white oak in particular in a lush and powerful way.
The result is a Lowland Malt with broad aromatic shoulders that lingers on the palate for a long time. A first presentation during the Aquavitae in Mülheim led to pronounced praise for the goodness and fullness of aroma of the Liora.
